The long-awaited trailer for Varun Dhawan and Janhvi Kapoor’s boldly titled romantic comedy Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari has whetted appetite, and there has been a buzz around the trailer already.
Shashank Khaitan, who directed the films starring Dhawan before, namely Dhawan films, Badrinath Ki Dulhania and Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania, is directing this film which is set to be released in theaters on October 2, 2025.
The trailer begins with Dhawan proposing to Sanya Malhotra (who says no) and then before you know it we are thrust into the conflict of the film after Sanya says she’s marrying Rohit Saraf, Janhvi Kapoor’s ex. The trailer lasts two minutes and fifty-four seconds.
Ultimately, Varun and Janhvi decide to stop the wedding and win back their partners with a twist; the two will date each other and make each person jealous. Very much in line with a Bollywood movie, the fake relationship turns real and sparks fly between Varun and Janhvi.
The trailer is loaded with humorous scenes, one being the pair talking about their middle-class background. Varun happily mentions that he only got Rs 50,000 from his father each month and Janhvi argues back that she is “more middle class” with her Rs 25,000. Jokingly Varun laughs out loud and says she is “lower middle-class,” and that will mean the audience laughs.
Produced by Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions, the film is expected to offer a “Bollywood feel-good film” with romance, drama, laughter and entertainment. Dharma shared the trailer on Instagram so fans could have access to the trailer to enjoy.
The odd story, solid cast, and Shashank Khaitan’s track record for romantic comedies should ensure Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari becomes an entertainment trouble this holiday season.
